San Antonio Food Bank Turkey Trot Race Description
Lace up your running shoes and gather with friends, family, and the entire community on Thanksgiving morning for the San Antonio Food Bank’s annual Turkey Trot 5k Run & Walk. Every step you take and every registration fee will directly support the Food Bank’s mission to alleviate hunger throughout Southwest Texas this holiday season.
As you trot along the scenic route, take pride in knowing that you’re helping to ensure that no one in our city goes hungry. With smiles all around, cheerful volunteers, and a wonderful sense of togetherness, the Turkey Trot 5K promises a joyful and rewarding way to start your Thanksgiving. Turkey Trot 2024 is a family and pet friendly event that embraces the spirit of community and gratitude. Help us provide a holiday meal to a family during this special time.
Every registration provides a turkey for a family facing hunger this holiday season.
This is a chip timed event with custom tech shirts and finisher medals for everyone!
Please note: If you are registering for the Virtual Race after 11/17/24 and choose shipping, you will not receive your packet until after the day of the race.

Early Registration until midnight 10/31/24 - $40
11/1/24 through midnight 11/27/24 - $45
Race Day - $50
Children Age 4-11 - $10 with paid adult. Shirt not included, but you have an option to purchase shirt ($12.00). Not eligible for awards.
Children Age 0-3 run FREE with paid adult. Shirt not included, but you have an option to purchase shirt ($12.00). Not eligible for awards.
Group discount of 10% when you have at least 6 paid registrants in your cart. No promo code needed.
No refunds/deferrals are given for personal decisions not to attend, including injuries/sickness/work schedules. Please see your confirmation email with instructions on how to sell/transfer your registration, or contact Lisa@solerssports.com for help with this task.
Easy team registration:
- Pick a team captain, have them register (as the captain) and create a team name. The team captain can add all runners, if you choose, or just register him/herself.
- Let your team members know your team name and have them register as Teammate. They should click on your team name from the drop down menu.

1st-3rd place, male/female in 5 year age groups: (Chip Timed)

TEAM COMPETITION:
We love the teams that are created for this event. Especially their unique names! This year, we will take the fastest 3 runners from each team and combine their chip timed run times to find the fastest teams. We'll be awarding 1st-3rd in the Team Competition.

Bravo ! This was an amazing race with so many entrants and it was so much fun navigating through the crowd during the race :) It reminded me of running from one period to another while in high school. There was so much excitement in the air both on the route and in the staging area. The folks from HEB were absolutely professional in their manner of taking care of all participant's needs. I mean, it was super simple to pick up my packet on race day, to get my shirt and there were plenty of healthy snacks and refreshments. Plus the parking was amazingly convenient. Wow! I got to park at the Commander's House parking :) The route was beautiful and had plenty of turns along with a long stretch in which I was able to "turn on the jets" and really get into my lean and rhythm. My mantra was "We're Running to Feed those in Need" and I don't know but somehow I got the sense that "everyone" was running with the same frame of mind. I will definitely be doing this race again!

A place to come back to time after time.
Good, flat, fast course with pleasant views of the river. Wave start was a good way to control crowding at the start line. Great weather and great turnout.

Our First Turkey Trot in SA
We loved it! Huge participant turnout and well organized. Communication was clear and effective via email. Packet pickup went smoothly with several location options. Parking was great and facilities were sufficient. The event was family friendly and my daughter felt safe enough to speed up ahead of us. So we really had a wonderful time. This will be our new tradition in SA. Thank you & well done!

Fantastic Event!
This is a fantastic well run event for all ages!! We are all looking forward to it becoming a tradition after this first time out. Even with rain it was well organized and fun!
Fun course, but messy start
In the future, participants need to be corralled according to speed. Lots of walkers were in the front of the herd and it made for a dangerous start, with the puddles. Maybe splitting lanes to accommodate faster people with and without strollers and dogs.

Virtual Turkey Trot
I received an email the day before the Trot and quickly registered. There were some questions that came up but were immediately handled by Ms. Soler. I ran the Trot on Thanksgiving Day in El Paso while I visited family. It was easy submitting my Fitbit time and results. I hope to run the Trot in San Antonio next year. Thank you.

Good 5k race. Fairly flat but some hills to keep it interesting. I agree with the other reviews that corrals to start the race would've helped with congestion.
