The 12th Annual Stride For Sight "Saving Sight, Changing Lives" is a family and pet friendly 5K run/walk hosted by Lions Sight Research Foundation and San Antonio Eye Bank. Our mission in hosting the run/walk is to educate and inspire the community about the Gift of Sight, healthy vision, and to build awareness for the resources that our partners offer.
Our event Unites individuals and organizations whom are supportive of our mission, Remembers local cornea/eye donors who gave the ultimate gift of sight, gives Hope to those who are need of cornea transplants, as well as those whom rely on free vision exams and other vision services.
This year's run/walk will take place rain or shine. (Note: If severe weather conditions deem it is unsafe to travel to the park, we will send out an email and post on social media.)
Everyone is WELCOME - Runners, walkers, Lions members, donor families, transplant recipients, eye care professionals, allied healthcare staff and companies, service clubs and organizations, running clubs, students, we mean everyone!
The event will offer FREE breakfast tacos, FREE kid's fun run with prizes, entertainment, display of the Gift of Sight memorial quilts, team awards and more.

Very well organized and it included fun music, pledge of allegiance, prayer for the runners, food, drinks and plenty of opportunity to register as an organ or tissue donor. The course was both scenic and challenging. It was fun running along Salado Creek under the canopies of trees:) The dancing event was both fun and energetic as it got us ready for the run:) I would do this worthwhile cause year after year and I will recommend it to family and friends:) Thank you Lions Clubs for the work you do to bring awareness to the importance of organ donors:)
