“On this day… 23 years (September 10th) ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighter, 60 police officers and eight paramedics went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00 a.m. Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.” —Unknown

Running Vaquero
It was a wonderful run replete with turns and neighborhood charm. It felt just like running in one's own hometown. The atmosphere was upbeat. Plenty of music was in the air. The sausage wrap hit the spot and the brewed drinks for the adults were a pleasant surprise. I must say that the awards ceremony was entertaining and fun as many of the runners knew one another. Pleasanton is now a place I'd like to run year after year and it's really not that far from San Antonio. The finisher's medals were awesome and the awards medals were well designed and well worth the effort of all the hours and days it takes to train for a 5k run. Congratulations go out to the organizers that put together such a memorable experience. It was an honor to help raise funds for our First Responders and for the local ROTC program. I saw many ROTC students run the race and they did it with such strength and dedication. This is a race I will definitely recommend to my familia and friends.
